I want to live at the intersection of Art and Church. I’m a classically-trained flutist, and a (mostly) self-trained sound engineer, and I’ve worked professionally as both a performer and a sound guy. I’m currently doing those things as a solider-musician for the U.S. Army Japan Band, just outside of Tokyo. After about 18 months in Japan, God made it clear that my longing to perform and produce comes to a glorious crossroads with the great need of the Church in Japan for creative people to lean in and invest their lives here. To that end, when my Army contract is up in 2016, we will be leaving Japan for three years of schooling and fundraising in the U.S., and we are hopeful that God will grant us to return to Japan as long-term missionaries by the end of 2019. I’m husband to my beautiful wife, Christina, and father to our two kids, Maggie and Keith.
